...if so, what were the circumstances and what route did you take into London?

I'm certain that the coverage of the cameras is not as extensive as TFL lead us to believe and some may not even be working (acting as a deterrant instead), like Gatsos without cameras in them.

I've also noticed that after the first week, traffic volumes and queues have increased, as if lots of drivers have found ways to avoid the charge.

Was thinking of starting a new thread on London Con charge and it's results as news coverage lasted all of one morning.
Has traffic reduced. Has it made a difference now the school holidays are over?

Not sure if its affected the zone itself but I reckon there is more traffic on the periphery of the zone and traffic at about 8pm seems to have almost doubled.

I cant wait to get out, 11 days and counting!

Don't forget the first week was during a school holiday so the effect of reduced traffic was exaggerated.

...and in the second week, some other schools were on holiday. Plus we're probably getting to the stage now where a lot of drivers who were either setting off extra early to avoid the charge, or had switched to public transport, are now starting to think "Sod that for a lark". Will be interesting to see whether traffic levels return to their pre-CC levels over the coming weeks.

So there is some common sense at Traffic for London.

you'll all be pleased to hear that the new lib dem mayoral candidate wholly supports the congestion charge... good start for him announcing that to win our votes then

But he does want to change it to make it fairer.
