Howdy all,

Ive bean looking around this stie for some time now. I saw a yello GTR on the Power Tour this year and it got me thinking. Has anyone ever put a deisel in a GTR. Some of them truck are going reely fast in the 1.4 mile over here with deisels www.performancetrucks.net/forums/showthread.php?t=374004

Is this possible.

Why not? My cousin has a Ford Power stroke with a Banks Pwoer kit on it and it does 45 to the mil aND 12 in the 1/4.

there were a few posts on using a VW V10 last year as an engine from a wrecked car had been found very cheap, don't think anything came of it.

That Ford Power Stroke engine that you are talking about is a huge truck engine that has no place in a sports car. It weighs somewhere over 1000 lbs. Thats almost more than the rest of the car weighs.

For a light sports car you want a lightweight, high reving, high hp engine. Loads of torque just spin the wheels in a car like the Ultima. The Power Stroke is a big, heavy, low redline (under 4K?), high torque, low hp engine. Besides the fact that it won't fit and would need some custom transmission setup, it is exactly the wrong engine for the car.
