7.5 Tonne trucks
Discussion
Does anyone know where the law stands with 7.5 tonne trucks being allowed in the 3rd lane of a motorway? Cos I'm getting arsed off with them cutting me up then crawling uphill at 70. I seem to remember when I was a van driver in '96 that everyone thought a law had just been been passed saying they were barred from using it, just like artics? Am I dreaming or do they just all ignore the law?

As far as I know they can still use the out side lane. The same speed limit as a car aswell.
correct but soon they will be limited per heavies and also prevented from using the outside lane.
to save sending you flying all over loking at bits of different legislation which isn't all that reader friendly take a look here
Different vehicles have to have limiters over a period from 2005 to 2008.
What it means is that once a vehicle has a limiter it must not use rh lane on motorway 3 or more lanes. Of course in terms of enforcement that's another matter all together.
