Evening all,

Just returned from a 1000 mile tour of Ireland. WOW the 996 gets better and better........does everything asks of it..........can be a tourer, but drop a cog, listen to the sports exhaust and push it in the twisties........

OH MY GOD..........cannot praise the car enough.

My ideal garage is a 996 and a stripped out 964 for the track!

Coincidence, my ideal garage is a 996 and a stripper too.

I love all these positive threads, Ballcock is tempting me with talk of empty twisty Irish roads...

ohh and on the 996 note, got mine back yesterday after near 2 weeks, damn the suspension is hard, and the steering is heavy, and the new clutch, ALOT heavier than it ever was.

but ohh the sound, ohh the way she sticks to the road, and boy does she go!

(I overtook the local mitsubishi dealers evo 9 whilst he was on a test run with a potential customer, when returning back from the shops this morning, was fun, the guy must have been gutted )

I wont mention he rallys evos at the weekend for mitsubishi nor the fact I was a milimeter away from buying one from him before I got the pork

I am still firmly of the opinion we should reciprocate Ballcock's effort of getting over for the PU by arranging (no dont ask me I am too unreliable for such things) an Eirehoon........

Gotta be done guys ...Of course, Irish and I may know one or two big dirty pint shops once the cars are in bed ..

(none of this mamby pamby bottle drinking over here!!)

There's a great run starting in Dublin and heading for the Wicklow mountains .. It takes about 2 hours (or more if pit stops are planned) .. It's a regular run for the Porsche club of Ireland.

I can feel myself being backed into a corner here.

And yes monkey can come along hehe
