Hi All,

I'm a little concerned as to why I've had a less thatn overwhelming response to my Westy ad below.

www.pistonheads.com/sales/102600.htm

I would appreciate peoples' view about this - it's a belting car which I thought would go very quickly!

Cheers for now,

Nick

Advert looks good as does price confused How long have you had the advert up for? Does indeed look to be a good spec

Not long, less thyan a week. I'm not impatient, but I don't want to lose the Chimaera I'm after!

I think these cars do in general take a while to sell unless they are up for well below the market value. If you look on the WSCC forums on the cars for sale section some cars do tend to hang around for quite a while. Also the time of year isn't ideal. Now is the time that a lot of people are taking them off the road for winter.

yeah, i'd say its more down to the type of car it is.

It'll be a second car - and a very specialised market - so as people are tightnening their purse strings with the recent rates rise, and xmas just around the corner, there will be less buyers for a car like that.

Best advice is to be patient.

I take it the you can't part x yours for the one you want?

You'd have had much more chance selling a few months back when the sun was always out. That and Xmas looming don't bode well for what is essentially a toy for the weekend. Great car btw and good luck.

The seven market seems pretty quiet this year. It took me a month to sell my v8 and I only wanted 10k for it and that was in the summer. You may well struggle at this time of year and you'd be better off putting it away and selling it next June if you can.

However if you need to sell now your car looks lovely and that's a good price. The only thing it has against it is the fact that it's a narrow body which restricts your market quite considerably in my experience. I'm not keen on the interior panel coverings and the speakers but it wouldn't stop me buying if the rest of the car is as good as it looks because it's easy to change to match my own tastes.

Regards,

Mark

I would echo all of the above, and in addition suggest that another reason may be the location. Many people just wouldn't be bothered to travel far to get a car, and so your market is really restricted to the west country plus the limited number of people from the rest of the UK that are prepared to do the miles to find the right car (which I think is essential). Still, a week isn't a long time, so don't give up yet! Incidentally, where else is it advertised?

Have you checked ebay to see how they are selling and at what price? And as someone pointed out, where they are selling?

1 Week isn't long but it must seem it when you've got your heart set on buying another car.

Just a thought but have you tried selling it back to the factory? A lot of manufacturers will buy their own products, even if they didn't build them themselves. Probably won't get your price though..

Selling back to Westfield never occured to me. However, I would have thought they'd probably only be interested if it was more current. Just a guess though.

Lot of car for the dollar.

Trub is a lot of people are unloading kits (seasonally) into a very downbeat market.

Ive seen a Fury9r for Less than £6K HERE :

www.pistonheads.com/sales/101565.htm

Dont want to piss on your parade, but I think all of us have a much to high an idea of the value of our kits in the current market.

If you want out of the car to buy another, its only really worth what someone will offer you.

Otherwise, you'll lose out on what you want to buy........

Just mentioned your car to someone who is thinking of going the kit car route. Miles away, but looks good value for money.

There is a lot of choice at that price point too. Newer cars from less well known marques swung me when I was buying. But keep at it, I bought at this time of year because the prices are so depressed.
