Has anyone had any problems with the oil warning light on the first generation R1's?
(The light on the rev counter)
It keeps coming on, stays on for a while then goes off. And this happens all the time.
I think it is purley an electrical fault.
Anyone else experienced this.
Thanks

I had similar on my Aprilia. Cured by replacing the sender.

I had the same problem on my 99 R1. I ignored it for ages, and then put a bit of gaffer tape over it. There's a float level switch in the bottom of the sum that gets gunked up and stops working. If you've got the fairing lowers off and the oil out anyway, it's a 10 minute job.

I had this happen with my 99 R1,its a low oil level light, don't panic!Just top it up with a little oil.I've been told, and have noticed that these bikes tend to burn a little oil. This light actually came on when i test drove mine when i was buying it,i thought it was an oil pressure switch and immediately pulled over, but its just oil level.
