Hi chaps, some advice would be much appreciated!

My accelerator seems to be sticking at just above idle revs. Doesn't do it all the time but when changing gear or easing off before braking it just doesn't want to return to normal position. Hooking my foot under the pedal does the trick though.

I have sprayed the bar and lever behind the pedal with WD40 and made sure it isn't something as silly as the carpet catching, so the next step is the engine bay I guess. Can't see much of the cable itself so I didn't want to start taking stuff apart without having some clue what to look for.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Those cables don't last forever.. It could be fraying and sticking inside.. Also, check it moves freely at the carb/injection end and look for signs of fraying, or anything else that could make it stick. Its a simple set up, so should be easy to track down the problem.

Change the throttle cable and check the return-spring strength. Either of these can cause trouble and it's so easy to cure.
