Hi All.

Had my 95 Fireblade in storage for a while and just got round to dragging it out ready to use.

Unfortunately, despite being put away fully working, it doesn't want to start now. Will turn over, fire up and idle on full choke but if you offer it the slightest bit of throttle it immediately stalls

If you close the choke it will eventually die.

Cleaned the plugs and they look ok, checked for anything obvious but found nothing..

Before I strip the carb looking for muck, has anyone got any other ideas?

Many thanks

Cider Andy

I saw this years ago on a Kawasaki, identical problem. Really smooth idle but the slightest throttle and the engine just stopped. Bizarrely it was the battery! I think the owner had started it off jump leads, though. I can't remember if he bought a new battery or charged the old one.

Blimey, thats just what I have been doing. Battery is pretty shagged, so have been starting on jump leads. Am going to buy another one - best do so before doing anything else ! - Cheers

forgive my ignorance - but does your bike run on carbs; assuming it is: drain off the stale fuel from the carbs. Replace the plugs with new and ensure your battery's giving a proper belt. Bobs yer uncle you should be back in busines
