Hello photography Gurus.

I'm pretty set on getting a 400D. Next thing is choosing a lens. I hear the standard kit one is a bit rubbish, and I'd like something sharp and not too pricey. Any recommendations. It would be my only one so something fairly general.
Cheers

edit: seem to have missed a title oops can some nice mod change that?

A good start would be the Sigma 17-70mm. Seems to be a good bit of kit with a very useful focal range and available for a smidge over £200 I think.

The Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is another option. Better lense I think but more expensive at nearer £300
