Nice work. Nice colour too. I love those old Alfas, Fiats and Lancia's. Gorgeous cars. Should check out my Fiat at:www.turbo124.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2509 It's virtually a Fiat 1750 GTV at a slightly better price. Love it to bits.
Cheers,
Reuben

lovely lovely lovely - I`ve looked at four or five over the last couple of years as I have a casual interest in buying one. None of them were anywhere near as nice as yours looks.

1750 GTV is my favourite (bar a GTA) of the 105 series Alfa`s.

Great colour, they had a grey 2000 with 65k original kms, I was quite interested in that one, but I didn't want another grey car laugh
I see you fitted a roll cage?! Did you do other changes to your diva? Carburettors? Suspension? ah and what type of exhaust have you got?

Thanks, yeah I'm a lucky guy, they got it the 27th of July, the 1st August I was there to have a look at the whole Alfa range, especially the 2000's they have (I didn't even know they got it...) and the 8th August I bought it... pretty much quick if you consider, that a month earlier I was still looking for a Fulvia....

I can really recomend the garage!!!

Thanks! I've got a full cage with removable door bars, period style bucket seats with four point harnesses, leather Motalita steering wheel, GTA relica alloys and the usual HBE suspension - Koni dampers, Eibach springs and 29mm front anti roll bar with the rear anti roll bar removed. Engine is completely standard except for K&N air filters and a slightly skimmed head. Brakes are standard except for Ferodo DS2500 pads and I've got a LSD back axle. Keeps me out of mischief!!!

If you really want to treat yourself to a nice exhaust system, this seems to be the pick of the moment:

that's really a nice exhaust system! I wonder how the guys from the Tüv/MOT react... headache I'm not sure if I should do it...? Maybe next summer!

Do you still have the standart air filter?

last saturday I bought a 1750 veloce brochure from 68 or 69 and it shows a car with the same colour as yours, I try to take some pictures tonight! It might interest you biglaugh

No. I have two K&N air filters on mine. They look good and make it very noisy but don't really give much performance benefit...

Thanks bacchus, but I have that brochure too! The colour is AR109 Giallo Ocra (Ochre Yellow) and was very popular at the time but many have been resprayed red over the years. I have checked with the Alfa Archives and mine was always that colour with the black inside.

No problem about the questions!! These cars get you like that!!

As far as I know, you can still join the UK Owners Club - they have a very active forum and their technical support for the 105 cars is superb!

Anyway, for background information on an old Alfa, you can send an email to

ArchivioStorico@alfaromeo.com

with your chassis number (should be stamped into the metal bulkhead near the bonnet catch) and they will confirm what history they can!! Good luck!

Thank you! I'm very very proud of it, even more because it's my first classic, I hope everything stays like it at the moment, as my whole family thinks old cars break down every weekend... rolleyes

@ Rick thanks again for your help, I'm going to contact the AR archive in the next days...
