Just got my Sagaris serviced at Automedon, Dave and Colin are without doubt as good as it gets when it comes to TVR service!! We arrived in Poulton at close to 7pm on Wednesday evening, left the car with them and were taken to a hotel in Blackpool that was booked for us by them. We had a tiring day along the golden mile and returned to pick the car up at around 6pm on thursday. The car now feels brand new again and my wallet not half as battered as most service providers would have left it!!! I cannot stress enough how good these guys are, they know TVR like no others and their customer service is brilliant, as far as I can tell, if you don't take your car there, you're doing it and yourself a huge dis-service.

I've heard only good things about the team at Automedon and I would really like to get my T350 serviced there. The only problem is that my car is an 05 model with the 3-year factory warranty and I'm worried that by having it serviced at an independent, albeit a very good one, if I was to have a problem, TVR could invalidate my warranty. I know that, in theory, according to EU rules, car warranties cannot be invalidated if the independent uses manufacturers service schedules and parts, but I don't want to be the one to test it!
Presumably, your Sagaris is still under factory warranty, so how do you feel about it?

Hi Mr Chips,

I am now on my third TVR, Cerbera 4.5RR, T350T and now the Sagaris. I know how you feel with regard to the warranty issue and I fully understand what you are saying but have you ever tried getting anything done under warranty with TVR. In my experience, anything other than bits and bobs can be like getting blood from a stone. I have elected to have my car maintained by two guys that have over 20 years experience in the factory, that have real passion and a wealth of knowledge. I have my services done at least two and a half thousand miles early, and I do a basic oil change in-between at home. It is my opinion that, the later engines have been assembled with better component quality awareness, and this coupled with careful warming procedures should ensure a better chance at longevity. If I have a major failure I would definately test the warranty.

My car always feels better after Dave and Colin have done their thing, it honestly felt like a new one when we drove home yesterday. At the very least take a day trip over their way and call in to see them, I'm sure they would be pleased to see you.

By the way, when was the last time you took your car for repair or service and got a courtesy call the following day to make sure you were totally satisfied and everything was ok?

Another big thumbup for Dave and Colin here. Called in to see them after the Back Home, great pair of lads who do know their TVR's.

Can only echo all of the above.

Over 100 miles away but I wouldn't use anyone else.

Main dealers in my experience are not even close and if I was buying I know who's stamps I'd prefer to see in the service book.

Hi Sidecar, thanks for your response. I'm not as experienced with TVR's as you are and, touch wood, as yet I have not needed to rely on the factory warranty. This is perhaps why, at the moment, I'm reluctant to risk any problems with it by having a service at an independent. Automedon are only an hour away from my family, so next time I'm in the area, I'll drop in and have a word with them, but all the feedback I've got from PH or TVRCC has been incredibly positive.

Echo all of the above as i said in a thread i started earlier.

Brilliant guys who know the cars inside out. I would take my car to them over a dealer anyday, i can understand warranty fears, but i do feel if you took the car to them they could not only tell you of iminent failure but make sure it doesnt happen too. Lots of experience with RV8's, AJP's and Speed Six's.

I travelled 130 miles there, stayed locally overnight and then travelled back and it was worth every minute and every penny.

Another HUUUUUUGE thanks to Dave and Colin at Automedon!!!
I turned up at their place last night at around 5.30, totally unexpectedly for them, (I thought they were expecting me, but a breakdown in communication with a part supplier meant otherwise). I had returned to have an exhaust modification and de-cat pipes fitted. As usual I was met with smiles all round, a mug of coffee and in no time the Sag was on the ramp getting ready for work. After a few hiccups with the part suppliers welder gas, we got everything done and I left at around 10.25.

Nothing is too much trouble for these guys, I would challenge anyone to find better service, in any field, than you would get from Automedon. Its about 130 miles each way for me to get there, but I'd still go if it was 300 each way.

Thanks again guys, yet again I've driven home in a better car than the one I arrived in!!

Last month they fitted in 18k service on my T350, sorted various minor bits & bobs, and solved AT LAST a recurrent failure that dealers couldn't last 3 yrs (heater hot/cold would work for a few thousand miles then stop working again, & odd water sensor readings .... traced to a faulty dash controls ecu, which apparently is often 'spiked' when you connect a spare battery). Good work.
