Thought I'd better put it here...

This morning when I took out the Tuscan from the garage, the driver side's door fell back in his lock.

Engine was running, but I couldn't open the doors from outside, neither could I open the boot by pushing the button.
I know the cable runs somewhere censored, but I couldn't find it, so I had to find a different way to enter, which eventually I did censored, all be it not without scratching off some of the paint on the back of the roof bar.

When I arrived at work, I had to do the same again, as I tried to close and open the door again before entering the office.

First question: how easy is it to repaint a Chameleon Blue car, as I've always been led to believe you need to repaint the whole car for this, but the TVR dealer explained me on the phone that it's even easier than repainting a normal metallic colour. Would it be possible to just do the roof bar, and at the same time repaint some of the rear (as there were two small scratches on there when I bought it)?

Second question: the locking doors... When I activate the alarm, it does what it's supposed to do, but when deactivating it seems like the door locking mechanism stays activated, and I can't enter from the outside. Strange part, the inner buttons stay active all the time, so I've "solved" the problem for now by taking off the roof so I can reach for the buttons inside. Any ideas as to what I need to check are welcome (as I'm about the only owner of a Tuscan in Belgium )

Thanks in advance !!

PB

wavey again sorry for the edit below,

Sounds like you need to know how to enter a Tuscan in an emergency without scratching any painwork?

Drop me a mail and I'll send you some info.

Have you got something resting against the interior door lock button on the parcel shelf? This would cause the doors to externally lock as soon as you unlocked the car.

Exactly what I was going to ask as I had the same problem with mine a CD holder was pushing against the button.

Erhm, I put my wallet, sunglasses, phone and radio front panel case there... Might be that the added weight was pushing down the button...

Then again, it only happens after I have switched on the alarm? (been showing it to some of my colleagues, and I can open the door now, but I haven't set the alarm)

Hi Pascal,

1. Where is the interior door lock button located because I ALSO have a Tuscan and live in Belgium and I haven't heard of such a button.

2. From which part of Belgium?

3. Approx. 4-5 Tuscans in Belgium, sorry

The door lock button is on the bulkhead between the steering wheel & the stereo it has a red light on it (you probably think it is just the alarm light) if you push this your doors are locked & it's easy to leave something on the shelf leanig against this as I found ou to my cost!

Exa&ctly, internal door lock button is somewhere next to the steering wheel in the "shelve".

It's not the button doing strange things though, as I've been trying to find out during the weekend what happened. Decided to do a reset by disconnecting the battery after a while, as I couldn't reproduce the erratic behaviour.

Now the driver side is functioning again as it's supposed to be, but the passenger side is only opening the window, not the door itself. I've ordered a new control unit, hope that solves the issue...
