Antbody know what this was....

Driving on 60 mph road near lower early, reading this morning. White escort type van in layby, with rear doors open. In back was a pair of cameras, level with each other and about 1 metre apart, both pointing to the oncoming traffic. Also traffic cones and grey boxes in the van - police looking reflective yellow and blue hatching on the rear doors. Was doing 40 ish, lots of time to have a good look - van was abandoned - no people in or near it. anybody????

I think that this is a tax disc camera - with number plate recognition.

It's a speed trap.

Saw one on the A1 a few weeks ago, wasn't sure what it was and slowed down.

NIP arrived 3 days later!!!

Outlaw, what a brilliant idea, have you tried it? Presumably it would work for Gatso as well?

Yes, the operators like to stand elsewhere so as not to make it a personal thing? I have also seen the other set up with 3 cables on the road and a camera standing on a tripod nearby whilst the operator twiddles his thumbs.

Thats got me thinking to start a new production facility of rubber mounted registration holders with built in vibration motors.

How much would you be prepared to pay?
