I've got a bit of an odd problem with the kit car I've recently bought, it generally runs ok, but when I'm sat in a bit of traffic (usually at busy roundabouts actually) it just cuts out when I put my foot on the brake, it only happens if I'm just moving forward small amounts as the cars infront are pulling out.

Not sure if this is related but I think it may be, but when I flash the headlights or stick on the indicators the car seems to lose power for a split second, once the lights or indicators are on its fine, its just the first moment the lights come on, so I was thinking that it may be when the brake lights come on while I'm sat in the traffic that is doing the same thing and making the car cut out.

Anybody have any ideas as to what might be the problem?

Do you have a servo on your brakes? I'd think it's likely that the servo has a seal problem allowing the mixture to weaken when you put your foot on the brake. Not sure about your brake lights causing the problem. Your electrical issues are probably a different problem caused by a poor earth.

Float level if its carburettor powered, I had a similar problem where it flooded and stalled under braking at junctions.

sounds like youve probabley got to set your tickover. it can sometimes be to do with what cam youve got as well. if its a fast road or racing cam they usually dont tick over to well.

I'd check your battery connections/main feed are clean and tight, before checking anything else.
