BBWF 2007

After 3 excellent BBWFs in a row, Alan Toomey has declared his intention to 'retire' and enjoy the next ones as a participant, rather than an organiser...

So, Wedge-folks, we are looking for volunteer(s) to to step forward as the coordinator(s) of BBWF 2007...

We are holding a 2007 events planning meeting at Gaydon on Saturday 14th October; it would be good if we could have a BBWF rep there, to start the process of getting the 07 diary sorted and to ensure that we minimise the date clashes that we saw this year.

A 'BBWF rep', you say. Well perhaps a 'TVRCC rep' might like to attend 2007, I'm sure there'll be room for a stocks... sorry, a stall...

Actually, Rev, did you register this with the club as an event in the past? I seem to recall some sort of insurance cover being available if you did?

Yep - they wanted to charge £5 on the gate for all non members.

No bun fight Rev, it just wound me up. Nick_Chim has emailed me so I won't say anymore until i've replied. Other than to say we talked at BBWF2006 and know more or less what they would like to do this year.

and if people don't like what they are proposing - then I guess private 'wedge' meetings may occur.

So - how would that work exactly - would they charge all the wedding parties etc turning up at EC £5 a head as well? Of course not - so what's to stop you coming anyway and parking in the car park at the end - the non-member's section?

Yeah - but the car park at the pub round the corner didn't look that big ;^)

There is loads of time - an event like BBWF does not take much organising..

So - who ever does it this year really will not event need to start
before early Jan .. one the scale of things we can afford to leave other big events and Race calendars to decide them selves before making a decision of venue and date.

As I recall the Rev was given the date for back home this year and the announced BBWF as the same date as opposed to the following weekend which had already been discussed with Ettington.

In addition the Rev wanted to use the clubs PLI because he didn't want to put his balls on the block if some pratt turned up like they did in 2005 and trashed a couple of cars in the car park.

But that's alright guys you remember it the way you want and when it goes tits up expect to sell your P&J to pay for it. We live in an increasigly littigous society and if you honestly think that people who drive Wedges wont take one of you muppets for a ride, then you deserve to get burnt.

Yes its time to start planning the biggest event of the year (well for Wedgers it is).

Same venue as last year, Ettington Chase on 15th and 16th July

The TVR Car Club in conjunction with TVR Engineering Ltd is pleased to announce that Back Home 2006 will take place at Blackpool on Saturday/Sunday 15th/16th July.

Checking the diary - isnt this the same weekend as he BBWF??

Yes, correct and we have been liasiing with the BBWF organisers.
Unfortunately the date is the only one that TVR can do.

Ummm....yes i found out about it (Back Home)on Monday
though in fairness there was a 'hint' of something a while ago. Hardly what i would call liason!!

In fairness Jeremy has been trying to change it but the meeting to confirm the date only took place at the back end of last week. As far as I am aware, Alan was told as soon as we knew.

If there was ANY way to arrange Back Home on another date we would have.

I am gutted as I was planning to go to BBWF myself, parking the V8M round the back of the hotel out of sight.

I think you will find that the TVR comittee had discussed the dates prior to that and Rev had been informed of the date of Back Home prior to any announcement about BBWF.
