Cleaning/polishing engine bay

With the winter coming up, I was thinking of making the engine bay look a bit nicer. Anyone have any tips how to do this (I don't want to risk cleaning oil/grease out where it should stay on) and what product to use for the various materials?

Yeah, good question. I can wipe off spills and excesses, but don`t want to degrease the lot to find it won`t work any more.......

Hi Gerjo

I use a tip that Daftlad gave me when we were all in Spain - Spray everything under the bonnet thoroughly with tyre cleaning foam (Armoural etc) and leave it to dry off! Yes really!!

It brings everything up nice and new looking. You can then use your favourite polishes on the various bits that you want to concentrate on.

Gerjo, i doubt that you will be able to find it in France, you may have to use the old "elbow grease" for this one.

Anyway it won't make you go faster next year at Zolder...
