Having spent another couple of happy hours scraping, frowning at and painting the Chim's nether regions, and, as ever, cursing what used to pass for powder coating in Blackpool, just wondered if they ever sorted the coating process?

If I was to invest in a Tuscan 2, say, or a Sagaris at some point, would I need to be doing the same to it as I have the Chim?

I got a Tuscan Convertible in April and took the wheels off for the first time last week. The coating is different compared to my old Chim...it feels more plasticy and shiney compared to matt finish..looks like it wouldn't chip to the same extent. Did notice that around the suspension bolts the coating has either been removed or it was never there..might be a potential rust spot in the future. All in all I'd say they've improved it.

have a 53 tuscan S it has a nice thick light grey coating on the chassis,
looks much better than the old thin white stuff they used to coat them in.
looks brand new underneath still,literally.

The Tuscan stuff seems fairly good. The only area I've got problems with on my '00 car is next to the exhaust manifold where it's been burned off. Later cars have a proper heat shield so shouldn't be an issue.
