Jon, that is a truly stunning car - one of my all time favourites! I remember a tape attached to the front of Fast Lane magazine - must have been the late eighties/early nineties - which had a recording of a Vantage being manhandled (I'm pretty sure thats the correct term ) round Brands. Inspiring stuff for a car loving kid.

Two questions:
Would you be interested in allowing me to take some photo's of the Vantage some time?
I'm planning a revival of my 'Essex run' (now 3 counties run) on the 15th - would be great if you could make it?

trackdemon:

yes, the dream of my childhood too!

i have that fastlane tape :-)

manhandled is right -- a big beefy bruiser that takes not prisoners. And was the fastest accellerating, best cornering and best handling of the 4 supercars back then (countach, bb, 911turbo, vantage).

Sure, happy for some pix

DEont know about the 15th - might be here, might be away on work - will know later

Stilo

1989 Xpack v8 vantage manual (4th from last chassis), with big bore exhaust (2.5 inch), big airbox, RSWilliams race brembos, 5.7 litre rikki cann engine with forged conrods, MSD ignition etc. In balmoral green (metallic dark green) with tan leather interior with dark green piping, dark green carpets.

Looked after by "Dr Vantage", rikki cann in southend.

Dont live near chigwell -- live within a few hundred yards of the suffolk border.

However, there is the monthly AMOC pub meet near Romford -- is this wednesday. Went last month, will try to go this month.
