best overall codec pack

[shadytree]

Assistance please Tefals!

Can you be so kind as to point me in the direction of the best overall codec pack?
It seems a lot of what I had installed are now out of date. I know you could use the g-spot programe to find out what's missing, but just wondered if there was a one for everything pack out there?

cheers Shady

I find divx to do a great codec bundle. Here www.divx.com/ .
I'm sure some more will arrive soon....

Download and install the full klcodec pack BUT be sure not to install the classic media player (its an option when installing klcodec) or you will be cursing yourself to eternity

ffdshow is probably the best codec around, it uses libavcodec (a very popular and powerfull opensource codec library). It decodes all popular formats (divx, xvid, mpeg4, etc)
