Wow - I dream of one day owning a Lambo and you sell one to own a Monaro.

However I don't think you will be at all disappointed.

A friend of mine had a Diablo AND a Lotus Esprit. Traded them both against an XKR Conv. About a year later, that was traded against a Landcruiser, then came a C-Class. He currently drives a Vectra turbo diesel.

The life and times of an IT Contractor

Considering he spent most of his life in Oz, and had both a Torana and a Monaro many moons ago, I'm suprised he hasn't gone for a modern Monaro.

Still, no accounting for taste!!

You WILL need the brakes - For the sake of £2k do it - Std are simply crap on the std one, never mind with another 100 ponies to contend with - you have been warned!

Nice Gallardo, especially in the fastest colour possible.

I dont think you have made a mistake. You will not find a car that is
a) as rare
b) as spacious
c) as comfortable
d) as powerfull
e) as easy to drive on the limit
f) as inconspicuous
g) as full of friendly owners

as the Monaro. Time will tell wether you are as pleased as all of us.

On a side note, I folowed a Gallardo a few months ago around the Nurburgring Norsclife. Easily kept up with him around the whole lap and thats with *only* a standard VXR.

I would second the brake upgrade if you intend to do any serious driving.

Good luck and I hope it goes well.

You'll love it but you HAVE to get the headers and cat-back. You will be really disappointed with the standard sound compared to the Lambo, it is crap. But add Wortec cat-back and headers with the nascar centre boxes and you will swear the force of a thousand hurricanes is been ejected behind you!
