Ph'ers I need your help.

Am off with Mrs CVP to Africa for the first time for a two week trip to Kenya, Uganda and lastly Rwanda to see the mountain gorillas (too much David Attenborough a a child )

Most of the planning has gone well but now I fear Nikon are doing their best to conspire against me. It's a reasonably basic trip but I will have access to a 12V cigarette lighter type power socket in the truck for recharging but I cannot for the life of me find a connector to allow recharging to replace the normal power socket to 2 pin lead for battery recharging.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here and help me find some way of recharging on the move? I'm already taking a spare battery so should have enough charge for a decent number of images but am concerned about battery performance dropping off as they will get cold at night.

Cheers

Chris

I have a 12v to 240v converter that I bought from Halfords to allow me to power my video camera in the car. You plug it into the cigarette lighter socket and it transforms that to a 3 pin 240v supply.

It works really well.

Could that be a solution for you?

Agree, an inverter is your best bet.

I have one of those too and it works a treat. Cost about £60 I think.

I think mine was about £30 from Halfords in their camping and caravanning section

Cheers chaps, will give Grays a shout and then also look at the inverter solution.

Trip is not for a while yet - mid November but you know what it's like making sure all kit is ready and functional in advance. I'm already accumulating a good stock of compact flash cards.

For something like this I'm most definitely following the 7P's.
