for me? Since I lost my 18-55 at Paris Motor Show (together with some memory cards and over 700 pictures cry), I need a good wide angle lens. I've been thinking about the Canon 20mm f/2.8, but I've yet to find a Really positive review of it. Does anyone know anything about it, or know of another lens I should consider? I think £400 is probably the maximum I can afford, and I'll be using it mostly for car shows and such. thanks

Contact kerso1123@msn.com about a Canon 17-40 L or a Canon 10-22

Well, at that price you'd be pushed, but try looking for the 17-85 IS EF-S, it's the upgrade to your 18-55.

Either that or if you want really wide look for the 10-22 EF-S (an absolutely STUNNING) lens.

If you had more than £400 I would be recommending the 24-70/2.8 L ...

How about the Sigma 10-20F4-5.6 EX DC HSM ?

About £320 from Warehouse Express. Nice lens - I got one a couple of months ago. Haven't really given it a good work out yet but nice results and excellent fast, silent focussing with the HSM system (equivalent to the Canon USM)

What I'm mostly bothered about is getting a sharp image (I know.. difficult with my budget!). I'm quite happy with using something like a 20 f2.8, although I'm not sure if I'm getting what I pay for with that particular one.

I'm definatley considering the 17-40 L. If it's still there in a few weeks time I think I'll send an email that way

Ideally I'd have a 16-35 f/2.8 L, but that's a bit much right now unfortunatley

IMo 10-20mm is a bit too wide for general car shots, ace for arty car shots.
