Considering an 8 series

Sold my TVR a few months ago and fancy something to tinker with. I've always liked the 8 series and they seem to be silly money now for what you get.
I would not want to spend much more than 7k. The car would be covered in the gararge and only do around 1500 miles a year. I would be buying with the intention of keeping the car for some years.
Their are some fantastic looking cars in the PH classifieds and loads on Autotrader.
All advice welcome.
