Dear Subscriber,
Just a quick note to let you know this month's copy of Bike will be with you a little later than normal, landing on your doorstep by October 11. This means waiting a few more days for your monthly fill but, believe me, it'll be well worth the wait.
The magazine's late because by holding back we've managed to get details on EVERY new bike for 2007, as well as a very exciting scoop story that can't be released until October 11 - it's top secret until that date, hence the delay. No other UK motorcycle magazine will have the story.
I've been fortunate enough to see next year's bikes and trust me, you'll love the November issue of Bike – just when you think the manufacturers have run out of new ideas, along come some utterly insane motorcycles.
I'm sure you'll agree its better to delay the release of the magazine for a couple of days than to miss out.
I hope you enjoy reading this month's issue as much as we've enjoyed writing it.

Sounds cool! Looking forward to seeing the new GSX-R 1000 K7 - wonder how different it will be in terms of real world performance over my K6... Also, just booked Snetterton on the 11th - £49! Something to read when I arrive home!

I'm also looking forward to seeing the GSXR1000K7 as my K4 is scheduled to be replaced next year. I quite like the idea of the variable map selector switch on the handlebar for full power, intermediate and wet. Although, I'm not so sure about the twin silencers, I quite like the exhaust on teh current 600 / 750

Worth remebering that the last special they did was the big preview on the 675.
Lots of other rumours flying around about Triumph at the minute so wouldn't be suprised if it was a new 1050 Daytona or even the long disputed Hypersports Busa competitor, now that sector is picking up again.

Got 4 months till I turn 21 when I intend to take my Direct Access.
My families' always been into bikes though and I help my Dad maintain his garage full - Triumph Bonneville, Triumph Trophy 1200, Triumph 1050 Sprint, Triumph Tiger Cub, Norton Dominator 650ss and quite a rare Panther 250. You might of guessed that he likes keeping it British!
I myself would probably be looking at one of the new Bonnies for a first bike but I like the look of the big naked Jap muscle bikes as well. Either a Kwak ZRX1200 or Yam XJR1300 but I imagine they wouldn't be ideal for a first bike from an insurance or manouverability point of view.

What on earth happened to RiDE this month? It's simply a load of statistics from Rider Power. Great that RiDE does this survey, as it's interesting to know some of the stats, like who rated their leathers after they've crashed in them. But a whole magazine full of stats and more stats? No thanks. I'll stick to TWO and Bike.

Jesus, for a first bike. I was scared of the 600 because it was Sooooo big! The confidence of yuoth, eh??!!

Exactly, the results should have been an extra not the whole mag... I wont me buying Ride anymore unless I want to buy an accessory!
I have respect for all bikers but I'm a good weather sportsbike rider at heart and their mag kind of makes me feel like one of the extras for a Bennets insurance advert. And that's another thing - what are the Bennets adverts all about during BSB - the producers of BSB play some cool Prodigy music on the intro (making it all look exciting) and then you have some coal miner type voice over bloke and a load of (dare I say it) coal miner types with their bikes
Ride also have some odd views on trackdays with most of the staff stating their dislike of them with one of them even suggesting they're "pen*s extensions"!!? In my opinion, track days are now the only safe place to explore the performance of your bike... Yep, no more Ride for me - I'll leave them to review the latest bike lock and grow their beards...
Bike mag is the best, no doubt about that...
