That's a great picture.

Shielding from the mid day sun, or in todays case, rain.

Nice cat too.

Not yet Jonny. Had a couple of enquiries from Australia can you believe! Have just arranged for an ad to be placed in Classic & Sports Car, but it won't be out until the beginning of November. Also waiting for an ad to appear in Octane, which is linked with my LCUK membership, but don't know when that one is due out.

Strangely I haven't had any response from my ad here on Piston Heads. Don't know what's wrong with these guys!

Having said all that, things are progressing well with my 'acquisition', so mustn't grumble. yes

Possibly, but compared to some others I have seen being offered for not much less, mine is in much better condition. And I can be a bit flexible, as nothing is cast in stone when it comes to buying and selling. If truth be known, I don't really want to sell it, as it's my first 'supercar' so will always be a bit special. cloud9

OK so if you dont want to sell it, why are you advertising it EVERWHERE? Everything sells for a price, but if start with a price that is too high (and lets face it most of us of this site are well informed) you just wont get a response. Put a realistic price on it, and it will sell. PS there was on on Ebay last week and it only made £36,000. That too was white but with the nicer lower bodykit. Sorry to spoil the party!

Just thought I would add my thoughts to this car.

Having been extensively involved in all of the work carried out on this car over the last 2-3 years, it is in stunning condition, to the point that it was entered into the concours at the 2004 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and only narrowly missed out on the title.

It is a fine example of a Countach, and being the QV 88 1/2 spec, it is also one of the rarest.

Trust me, Lambochick has spent a huge amount of money on this car over the last couple of years, and knowing her, it is still in this condition.

And as it is one of the better ones out there, I think the price is spot on, but that is all I'm going to say about prices of these cars, as I'm getting tired of having my wrists slapped!

Cheers,

Alan.

There's quite a difference between wanting to sell it and needing to sell it. As previously stated, I don't want to sell the Countach, but I need to realise the equity tied up in the car to upgrade.

p.s. Thanks for the kind words Alan.

As someone who is currently looking to buy a ct I've been looking at the market quite closely. I'm bound to say that although this car may be a few grand over we would not be having this conversation if it were red or black! It is one of the most desirable models it is just that the colour will put alot of people off(me included). As for the white one that was on ebay last week, this was a 5000s and not a qv,was pissing oil everywhere and had not been looked after by one of the more recognized specialists. I think ultimately you'll get close to your money but a white ct is definately a summer seller. Good luck Lambochick, when I get mine I'll give you a shout as I'm only a few miles away>

Thanks for the kind words guys. I have to say that when I was originally looking for a CT I too wanted red, but this one came along at the right time and in wonderful condition. Subsequently it has grown on me, especially when I see so many red ones at various Lamborghini meetings that I have been to. The other thing I also discovered is that my car is actually unique; there isn't another RHD white/white 88 1/2 QV in the world. cool

what would it cost to take off the side skirts on a 88.5 and give it smooth and (IMHO) much nicer looking 87 style flanks?

They do actually serve a purpose, in as much there is a duct at the rear of them for directing cooling air to the rear brakes. Don't know if it actually improved the braking, or if it would be detrimental to the braking to remove them. No idea on cost either.

IMO they spoil the lines especially with the rear wing. I had an 88 spec and looked to get them removed too. The cost was about £4k from memory. However, unless you intend to keep the car probably not worth doing due to affect on originality that is important with these cars.

That's very restrained for you Mike!! Looking forward to seeing you all in two weeks time. Will have a few questions for you about your proposed factory run, so hope you are starting to put some details together that I can pick your brain on.
