My newly acquired DVD (region 2) arrived on Friday. Not watched the film yet, although I saw it at the cinema when it was originally released, but the documentaries about Formula One in the sixties and the short about Brands are very interesting. I began to think they had some (political) reason or not mentioning Jim Clark but they were actually saving him for special mention near the end.

I hadn't realised the cars were so dusty and full of film crew figerprints. Some of the on-board shots at Monaco reveal all the muck and grime.

We even get the 5 minute overture before the film starts (this is the music played whilst the curtains were still drawn across the screen in the cinema - something MGM also did with "2001: A Space Odyssey). These overtures were never played when these films have been shown on TV - understandably, I suppose.
