SVA test - will polycarbonate side windows get through?

I'm in the process of buying a 911 race car which has Macrolon polycarbonate windows all round (except glass windscreen). A couple of people in the Porsche forum mentioned Ultimas may have polycarbonate windows, so I thought I'd pose the question here too.

To get road registered the car needs to go through an SVA test, but speaking to the SVA people yesterday they said it would need driver and passenger windows made out of glass. Is this correct? If so it is a REAL pain as the polycarbonate windows are bonded to a carbon door, and therefore I'd probably have to fit the whole door unit. However looking through the SVA manual (found one here: www.rootpeg.net/SVAMarch2004.pdf) it appears that glass windows may indeed be necessary.

I'm surprised / confused by this - I'm sure the Ferrari Challenge Stradale could have polycarbonate windows as an option, and the Aston Vantage race car in this month's EVO magazine also has them (and is road registered), and I understand Ultimas have them too.

Any ideas / advice gratefully received.

There are 2 ways of getting it though :-
1. Get the correct plastic material they do allow, and have a certificate from the company that made them to say that it is what it is...
2. Do what all GT40 Replica's do when going for SVA.. Remove the door windows altogether... Can't fail you for not having any....
