Just got my car back from Lambo Manchester, who have done another fine job again... thanks guys. I've had a set of high flow air filters fitted (which are standard on the 06 models onwards). The difference is great!! the induction roar is awesome and can even be heard over the de-catted tubi. The car is definately punchier mid range and is a definant improvement ove rthe nold ones. It pops and bangs even more now on the over run!! Anyone with an 04/05 Gallardo should get some of these. They apparently do them for the Murcie as well.

They also fixed the annoying creaking fromm the back differential, by addition of a oil additive. The car now is even more of a pleasure to drive.

Once again thanks to the team at Lambo Manchester, who yet again have bent over backwards for me and made my fine car even better.

Andy.

Hi Elms,

Don't know, not too expensive though I think. Give Saj at Lambo manch a call he'd be able to tell you.

Hi Elms

In answer to your question the free flow air filters cost £60.10 each inc.vat
And the standard air filters cost £22.83 each inc.vat

Hope that helps.

Apologies for digging up an old thread, but at least I did use the "search" function before asking a question!

I am keen to try out these high flow air filters and just wondered if there is any more feedback on them?

My car is in with Lambo B'ham soon for its 15,000 mile service. I presume these are OEM Lamborghini parts, and hence Lambo B'ham should be able to source and fit them. I further assume - please correct me if I am wrong - that there is no impact on the car's warranty.

Also, whilst on the subject of service, has anyone used Lambo B'ham as yet, and if so what's the feedback (if not positive, I'd appreciate it if you could PM me to avoid breaking the posting rules. Cheers).

Thanks

Steve

Lambo Manchester fitted them for me, so no warr. issues. I drove home thinking well that was a waste of money. The next day I was driving along with the window down and suddenly had the chance to really accelerate.. bloody hell, the car felt more urgent and the induction sound was great, a subtle but worthwhile change.

Simon

derfinate improvement over the standard. Shouldn't be any warranty issues as they are still a panel filter.

Not tried lambo Brum and the end of the day i always stick to what I know works and for me that's lambo manch.

Sounds interesting....

Could they be fitted at home, or is this a dealer fit thing?

BTW, I bought my car from Lambo Brum, nice guys, haven't had change to see the new place yet.

I have emailed Lambo Wycombe today for their view on this modification - I'm just interested in what they think - will report back

Can be fitted by a competent individual (which probably rules out half the contributors here laugh). Give yourself a couple of hours so you don't bugger anything up or drop a bolt anywhere nasty, but it's fairly staright forward.

I've got some pics of when I did mine somewhere, if my recent PC crash hasn't wiped them out! I'll post a couple up once I find them.

Ah. Here we are.

The red is the new one.

Hope this helps. As you're not a million miles from me, feel free to PM if you want to meet up at Fort Dunlop.

So it's a K&N panel filter then.

They're £29 for the Elise , presumably loads more for the Gallardo, for no good reason!

I can't imagine for one minute they make any significan power differance to a clean standard one, probably much louder sucking sound though if you like that sort of thing!!eek

Certainly, it's A panel filter, Rob, but it''s not a K&N one.

You're right ofcourse. It'll cost more because it's "special", alledgedly. laugh

I should have been more specific, I meant a lubricated cotton gauze panel filter, ie a K&N style construction.

So a generic copy of a K&N filter!!!

Had it confirmed today that Lambo Wycombe are fitting the newer 06 MYE panel filters to the Gallardo's they service as a matter of course.

Performance increase is so minimal that you wouldnt know it unless you ran a before/after power run on a dynamometer (rolling rd).
