I'm sure I'm not the only one here that thinks this... When a criminal is being chased by a helicopter why don't they just aim for a populated area, e.g. shopping centre, pub, cinema etc?

why not steal an electric car or a milk float at night so it doesn't leave a heat trace

I would say the best option would be to decamp in a multi story of some sort.... There's still a heck of a lot of technology you've got to evade these days though.

if i was being chased by a chopper copper would it not be a good idea to fly towards a power station do the pylons not pose a danger and interfere with their equipment.

there you go the perfect crime , steal a milk float from a shoppin centre drop the family at the airport drive towards a power station and into a multi storey car park and if you get caught tell them you are a traveller with no fixed abode but a member of a strong community and you will be released without charge and your milk float will be returned to you with all the yoghurt you can eat ,not bad for a days work makes a change from stealing road signs , manhole covers and diesel

SO 13 1/2 from Scotland Yard who specialise in milk float theft will liase with operation nutron (they are the undercover people made up of bibs you used to be travellers and who protect leccy pylons in the UK and are based at airports) will track you down. They also have special dogs that sniff out yoghurt.

Had it not been for that mob your idea was a cracker.......

If you're the sort of person to be chased by police copter you're probably not smart enough to think of these things!

Having said that I got chased by a police helicopter once for fooling about on a river with an inflatable boat :hides:

When you chased by a helicopter in Afghanistan, you would normally have prepared for the circumstance by carrying your stinger, man portable, missile system with you.

I guess when it eventually happens in this country, it'll appear on Police, Camera, Action.

Until then, like Shaw Taylor says.... Keep 'em peeled.

The thieves who stole our car did just that. Decamped from the car and ran into a busy Sainsburys.

Wouldn't that be a GOOD idea? The heat trace of the bin (assume from the decomposing) would mask the heat trace of the human? Only a good idae if you're not seen hiding in it though

But what if Tony Bliar demolishes it in a controlled explosion? Then you're screwed!
