Just after any info on these things, owned a 5 before so know what to expect about the car, just wondering what the oil berner is like.
Is the engine the same in the E34 and the E39? What sort of Mpg can be expected? Is it as quiet as the petrol at motorway speeds... Any common problems with this engine or is it generaly bulletproof..
Any info on these would be appreciated...

I can answer you Qs from the aspect of 325tds ownership...
MPG- My average is 46, B-roads only. Motorway I have achieved 65 when going 70 at a safe distance behind a lorry, otherwise about 50 on the 'way. Five will be worse due to extra size and mass, and I have got economical driving down to an art
Quiet, no its not. Simple as that, not bad for its age tho, and fives should be better.
Bulletproof- more or less if all the usual has been done on time, turbos do go, but not often. These are the sort of cars that get run into the ground so be carefull.
