The pic says it all, really. Too close for comfort, that was!

I don't geddit. Wheres the narrowly avoided device that would have caused the puncture?

What speeds did you hit at Vmax today?

The pic above shows that the front tyre is flat. I think I must have brought a roofing tack in the tyre with me, and the high-ish speed flung it out after a couple of laps. Turns out, earlier, someone had noticed a "ticking" from the front that they assumed must have been a stone in the tread.

I had just finished braking from 165mph (it was wet afterall) and was doing around 110mph round this corner. I was lucky the tyre didn't peel off the rim, and VERY lucky not to knacker the rim.

Only came to Vmax to watch, I'm afraid. And meet up with Si and Doug. I've done enough charging round race tracks, to be honest. And it's more fun when someone else is picking up the tab! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves though.

Seemed like a very well organised event and I especially liked the array of tweaked Porkers. Yum!

Doug's Spyder was epic. Bruntingthorpe's owner, Dave, couldn't believe it was standard (which it is). Clearly the factory's noise meter has been pensioned off these days. laugh

I was very fortunate to have a ride in that, my first passenger ride in a Lamborghini I might add.

I couldn't tell the tyre was flat in that pic, as they are so low profile! Does look like you were extremely lucky though.

Crikey,

Was at VMax on Sunday in the Pork and you caused a bit of confusion for a couple of us..!

Traxx was there in the Spyder (thanks for letting me sit in it..!) which obviously stood out a bit. Half way through the day a couple of guys I was stood with commented "I'm sure that yellow Gallardo was a convertible..". Have to admit I did a double take before realising it was a different car..!! A real beauty.

I took a couple of nice pics of your car in the foreground with all the Porkers lined up in the background. Let me know if you want them and I'll email you through your profile (don't worry, not planning on posting anywhere).

Cheers.

Unlike Bruntingthorpe's.... I only managed a couple of laps for a press shoot before I was chased off the track.

You could post them in the pics section of the Vmax forum if you wanted? I'm sure other folk would appreciate seeing such pictures.
You could post them
