Sounds like a good 'un.

If I were you though I would state a price as is and another for the bike in standard form. If it were me I would want it WITHOUT the cosmetic additions for example.

BTW, all those mods and NOT Termis? What were you thinking???

PS - I sold my beaten up, outside living 13000 mile 748 earlier this year for 3.5k (px) - that really puts the value of yours into perspective.

ETA: Why not include the 'preparation before the slaying' video in the Ad to show quite how girly the bike's been treated? www.pistonheads.tv/clip979 hehe

yeah I dont think I was being ironic when I put that vi up

Termi's = I did originally buy the 55mm termis but when the garage came to fitting them they didnt fit! the guy said they must have been a friday afternoon job in the factory becuase they could make them fit but the pipes really didnt want to go straight on out the box. So I asked what would be my best bet, they said a few brands, I siad OK whats the loudest? they said the GP spec carbon leovince's so I bought them, and was embarrased to start her up outside my house at first :S

also milage shouldnt be an issue? should it?

the engine is still very tight, not even fully loosend up yet.

what year was your bike?

Nah the mileage is fine I reckon, particularly considering you've recently had the belts done.

My old one was a 2000(W) and really was pretty knackered. It did have Termis and a single seat unit though nut I didn't even have a scrap of service history for it biglaugh

I would definitely offer the two prices though - standard(with zorsts though) and as is. Some people are put off buying vehicles from 'polishers' as such and without all the carbon stuff it would just be a mint bike thats obviously been looked after. You'd loads more selling the carbon on ebay anyway I'd have thought.

Good luck, V-twins aren't as easy to shift as they used to be apparently...yours is a bit different though.

Gary, A sad day! reading through the add without knowing the price(I missed it at the beginning)I was expecting between 6 and 7k. Maybe I'm out of touch with prices, but if I were looking for a 748, this is the sort of bike I would look for. Seems quite cheap for what it is.

Mileage is fine, good advice for anyone buying a Ducati is to buy the bikes that have been used and meticulously serviced, not the ones that have sat in the garden shed.

As has already been said, you will make more by selling the bike is standard trim and selling the special parts separately. (I'll have the front stand if you do split stuff up) This time of year is not the best for selling a bike, are you sure you can't find a way to keep her?

M.
PS. if I find myself in the same situation, the Porsche will be going first.

Cheers MTBR, it is indeed a sad, sad day.

I have put a price without all the extras at £4995 so a grand off but less what cost me near 3 grand in ducati carbon.

ill make more money doing it that way but for the sake of sending it back to ducati to replace everything im easy.

ducati lincoln have offered 5500, they have a 2 year older bike, same colour single seat, with 4k more miles at 5500 at the moment but its not in as good a condition as mine, so I think 6k is a good price to move it tbh.

I dont NEED to sell her, I could scrape by but id rather not scrape by tbh!

The only picture of the left hand side is shocking quality... you might want to upload a better one or people might think you're trying to hide a low side slide...
