Driving my S2 home last night I heard a very loud clicking noise from behind the speedo and rev counter. Sounded like morse code being tapped out ! It only stopped when I turned the lights out. I'm thinking a relay on the blink, but the fuse box is in the engine compartment on the other side of the car.
I put the lights on later and all was fine.

Any idea's, I'd like a clue before I pull the dash apart !

Cheers.

Was everything on the dashboard working?

I thought all the relays were in the fuse box under the bonnet???

Could it be something caught in the air blower fan, with the sound getting transmitted into the car via the vents?

Yep, everything working fine. But that does remind me that my heater fan still blows gently even when in the off position ?....... and while I'm at it why can you lock the central locking on the centre switch with the ignition off but to open the doors with that button you have to turn the ignition back on ?

That sounds exactly like the way that my S2 works as well ... nothing to worry about there, I think. (Unless both yours and mine are broken in the same way!)

not sure about the central locking switch thing (will try that tonight!) but as i recall you do get some air circulation even with the fan switch off, they all do that sir

IIRC the 0 setting for the fan is not off, rather just a very low setting - so that's normal.

I have the same thing with the central locking button - bloody irritating it is too sometimes
