Have recently moved house and got a big integral centrally heated garage . However said garage has also to double up as a workshop and DIY area. The very cheap polywhatsit car cover I have is letting dust permeate through. Can anyone recommend a good dustproof protective cover or advise on what type of fabric to look for?

I bought a waterproof cover for my Chim from this place : www.classicadditions.co.uk

It looks a bit space age - has air vents and a storage bag not bad for under a ton..

They do a whole range or indoor/outdoor covers..

Hope it helps

Thanks

I got a 1/2 cover from them. About £40 & does the biz. BUT although they supply fixings (loads of elastic) theres absolutely NOWHERE to hook the stuff onto on a chim. so youve got to drag the elastic right under the wheel arches - which as you know are just about as full as they can be with tyre, and scuff your knuckles, get covered in crap. Just what you want on a drizzly dark winter evening.... so I got onto the company suggesting they do a cabin cover specifically for sports convertibles & a nice chap basically shrugged & said it fits ok on his XJR!
Keeps the rain out tho'

You might want to check out a Multibond cover from Covercraft:

You might find it hard to believe but try Argos!!!

I have a full car cover which is a perfect fit for the chim....all for the princly sum of £19.99!!!.

Belive me it does the job and fits like a glove. Only draw back is that its an orrible shade of green....but what the hell.

Try this:

Argos car cover £19.99, also get 12 yards of fleece fabric off the market (about £20) and a couple of bungees.
Put eyelets in either side of the cover around where it touches the wheels, stretch bungees under the car.
Works a treat inside & out, resists high winds, costs next to nowt, leaving sufficient for a tankful or two of Optimax

Yes, I concur that the Argos cover is great, but unstable in the wind. So we have made some eyelets and then attach stretch rope under the car and link into the eyelets - easy! Oh we also cover the car in 2 blankets (bought from the market)placed underneat the cover to make it even more snug and to protect the paintwork from chaffing!
