CISCO VPN \ NT Login - Help Please

My US based networks bods don't seem to be able to help me, hoping someone here may be able to help.
After some network issues everyone in the UKs NT account was locked, everyone was unlocked and all bar me carried on as normal. My issue is as follows:-
My machine login is failing as it appears to have become un-synch'ed from the network, luckily I also have a local admin account which will allow me onto the laptop, and I can access the co' network by VPNing in after I log in as local admin (using my NT account).
I used to log into the VPN prior to logging onto the machine and this worked fine, this no longer works failing at the authentication stage (it appears), Network bods are saying this is down to my router (although nothing has changed there since the un-sync),and that if I could log in my account would re-sync.
Can anyone give me some pointers\tests I can do to work out what is wrong?
