I seem to be getting loads of undeliverable spam type mail at the moment. All of it appearing to come from bogus version addresses such as "gnrf@mickbarrett.com" etc.

Is there any way I can stop this and how much damage is it doing etc, and why, whats the point?

I'm getting 20+ per day. I'm hoping it'll peter out eventually.

So spammers can hide their nefarious activity.

Its annoying but there is little you can do to stop it I think.

Whats happening is that they are banging out emails and because the mailbox doesnt exist at your end, the undeliverable message from the remote host hits the catchall email address, which is yours.

You could setup a specific catchall@yourdomain.com and they would end up there.
