Which Noble 2.5 or 3?
Discussion
Ok this topic must have been discussed to death but have managed to sell my car and am looking to buy a Noble hopefully in January. My budget is around 25-29k. anyone tell me where i can find the stats on both the 2.5 engines and 3 litre ones? Which would you go for? Reliablity is my main factor. Any help appreciated.
hmmmm, although you would obviously always say go for the later model, it depends entirely on the car i'm afraid mate.
i.e. a good 2.5 is better than a slightly dodgy 3. Just watch out for any 2.5's with the Magnetti Marelli ECU. Although some are still going, they were prone to failure and the replacement cost is huge.
Don't let the engine size worry you too much, just try and get on with as many upgrades as possibe - 6 speed box / ECU / LSD, maybe nitrons/dymags.
Post up when you've found one in your budget, list the specs and we'll try & help

If you go for a 2.5 Make sure it has the Upgraded ECU plus all factory recalls. I will now also say make sure it has an Upgraded diff to LSD or ATB mine has just lost some teeth and isn't cheap!!.
As Obes said a well sorted 2.5 is a better buy than a cheap 3. Mine will be back up forsale as soon as the diff is changed, If you like Green!!
Obes you have PM.
