MOT time again...

Still a few days to go though. Does anyone just take their S to the local MOT station? Usually I take mine to my local independent (Tower View) and they do a pre-check and sort the whole thing. However, time is short this time so I was thinking of just taking it to one of the local garages round here (Ruislip, NW London) that do an MOT. Had a service in April so hoping all will be ok.

He is restoring an e-type at the moment, because he wants to sell the one he restored before. He also has a midget for sale, that he restored. He also has a 4-carb Mini that goes like the proverbial smelly stuff.
He's not a specialist though - the place is full of ordinary family cars for service and repair.
He likes the noise my TVR makes though, so the MOT test is accompanied by much chat and advice.

Anything I should do to prepare - I've checked the obvious - tyres, lights etc and plan to take it for a quick blast before to warm it up.

Good luck. I'm getting mine back this afternoon after its accident repairs, trailing arm rebuild, etc. I was begining to forget what it looks like.

Ah yes, the treasure hunt. Yes, we did finish it - and arrived back at the hotel around 4pm
The latter half of the drive was brilliant and around a country I had never been before, so we didn't want to rush it. 
Will definitely be back next year, with my S - Zolder was brilliant.

Glad I stayed to watch. Tester let me waggle the rear light cluster to fix the break light not working with headlights on.
Good news.
The problem with those rear light clusters is usually light corrosion in the connector block, easilly fixed by cleaning the contacts. I got mine back, so we can celebrate tonight at the Coy Carp.
