Until I started my DAS I though that 99% of riders were male. Unitl I took my CBT with 3 others and 2 of them ladys. also one of the 3 instructors was a lady.

Know I started asking questions about on various forums and amazed at the amount of women on bikes. is this a new thing or just one of them things you don't know about until you ride bikes.

I too was amazed by this until I went to a bike meet. The amount of ladies that turned up was amazing!

Most of them good looking with nice bikes!

I saw my 1st lady biker BiB yesterday, the best bit was that her and her mate pulled over two cyclists for ignoring traffic lights.

IMO, people generally assume people on bikes are guys, and it's not always obvious that under all that gear the rider is a woman.

Good for you on the CBT. Any idea what kind of bike you want?

The more female riders the better, my Girlfriend has a full bike licence but sadly hasn't got a bike at the moment, she used to ride a cb400 superfour.

I've had an SV650S, which is a great bike. A mate of mine can recommend the Hornet 600 too. If you can afford a newer bike, then check out the Honda CBF600 and Kawasaki ER6F. Friends have highly rated those too.

If you can manage the odd test ride after DAS, then I'd recommend it. Bikes can be totally different from what you expect/read, as we all differ in what we like and what suits.

Oh, and as others have recommended many times, a day with www.bikesafe.co.uk is invaluable to new (and old) riders.

Have fun

Yup, one of my best friends is a R6 rider by the name of Natalie. She may not be as quick as the chaps but she looks a damn sight better in leathers hehe

My little sister took possession of her new Daytona 675 at the weekend. She is quite a confident rider and leaves a couple of my mates behind!

Occassionally I'd swap bikes with her and a few of us would turn up to a meet, with her on the Aprilia. Blokes always did a double-take when they saw her hop off it!

I am riding the missus R6 at the moment, she previously owned RG125, RS125, RVF400. She is currently rather pregnant and can't fit into her leathers.
