Well first time on here but you all seem to be as chuffed with your TVRs as you are with mine.

Had my 2000 Tuscan Mk1 for 12 months now in that time I have had serious highs and lows. I use it all the time and the engine (touching serious wood) has not let me down. However I have gone through 2 throttle cables including one of the new uprated ones. Oh and a minor prang.

I do have a query if anyone can answer it, I often get a EFi fault warning after the car has been left out in the rain, but it cures after the engine is warmed up. It also idles very low from 500-700rpm is this right????

I hope to keep a closer eye on the site and hopefully meet us with a few TVR owners in the west cumbrian area.

Welcome...pop down to Blackpool sometime...Glad you're enjoying your Tuscan...you should meet up with the Cumbrian TVR Club members they seem a good bunch...we went on their Tour of the Lakes a few weeks ago. Tuscans and wet don't seems to mix!!! either on the roads or inside 'em.

Greetings! EFI Fault is a common one written about on here and if I remember correctly, is indeed caused by damp sensors which when dry, no longer register the fault. Often happens after a car wash as well - maybe consider a car cover going forward to prevent?

Idling - 500 to 700 does not sound excessively low, and the top end of that range is "normal" for mine immediately after a service. I had problems of idling down to 300 and lower which adjustment of throttle bodies solved. There are also varying schools of thought on pressing the accelerator lightly for a short (5-15 second spell) period after turning the ignition on, keeping the revs around the 700 mark until the engine settles down. This has worked well for me, comes recommended from my dealer, but I always take great care never to rev higher than this during this short period. Same applies to never going > 2.5k revs until >60c oil temp.

Thanks for that I'll give both of them a try!!

As for wet roads and tuscans, certainly don't mix hence my off earlier this year.
