I see on the Cerb forum these boys are talking about how fast they can get their cars to go.What about the Chimaeras??? Speedo or GPS verified??
Of course i don't condone this sort of behaviour on the public roads..............much

I was seeing 150 speedo units on Marham runway. There was a bit left too, if I'd had the bottle (and brakes!) That's from an 80K miles 400.

I had a GPS verified 150 on the Marham runway in Spring, the car felt VERY light at that speed though - 1997 400.
My speedo is also accurate to within 3mph at 90 according to my GPS.

Had a comfortable 140 (indicated) on the 400 and I must confess it felt like she had a fair bit more to play with.

Indicated 175 leptons, verified by (petrified) passenger, and repeated. 165 topless. 150 leptons with bonnet lifting and zero forward visibility. Speed 5mph fast at 120mph according to GPS, not checked at warp speeds, yet.

This thread is heading for oblivion!

164 is the theoretical maximum speed of a standard Chim due to the gearing (and I wouldn't fancy bouncing the limiter at that).

Cheers
Matt.

Had mine up to 20 miles an hour in Central London. Occasionally I can even use second gear!

I did 130mph topless - the car not me - in France 2 years ago, that was fast enough for me, with all the wind and noise I was convinced I was Michael Schumacher hurtling down the straight at 200mph, then I got ovetaken by a v6 Laguna, the old guy driving it had a pipe in his mout, and his old wife was reading a newspaper, he waved nonchantly as he passed me - grrrrrrr !!!

Oh yes My Griffith Speedo reads around 175mph at a real 158mph not saying TADT but worth bearing in mind

120 mph = 4000 rpm (approx), so 6000rpm = ?. Maybe the speedo does get more inaccurate (double negative?) at speed, but does the rev counter come out in sympathy?
