hi everyone, i came accross this forum while trying to find a solution for my problem. lastnight some tt has poured red wine over the top of my tuscan 2 convertible hood, i tried cleaning it as soon as i got home, but its stained...does anyone know what i can use to remove this, any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated.

on another note, the place where it happened, has said they have caught it on cctv and will release it if i file a police report....do you think i should file a report for such a thing or is it a waste of police time etc, thanx for any info

I say report it, people should not get away with such a cowardly act. someone drove in to the front of my 911 few weeks back, no names and no one saw it.

Red wine stain, try talking to a carpet cleaning company, they should have something non toxic.

File a report. You cannot let anyone get away with this if there is video evidence.
If you do they may well think it is OK to do it again to you pride and joy when it is
sorted.

Hi ooooo.

Sorry to hear about the car and of the sad waste of wine. weeping

You could try Mothers Convertible top cleaner. Works extremely well on most stuff and it has "ULTRA SUDSING ACTION".

I know this will sound dumb but try some white wine.I spilt some red wine over my wifes favorite chair( White) in her library. Some white wine got rid of it very well! Try some red on a spare piece of fabric first as a test but I was amazed! ( and got of scot free!)

It could be worth trying 303 Fabric/Vinyl Convertible Top Cleaner.

It is a colloid cleaner rather than using soap, detergent, or petroleum solvent.

You could see if you can get an offcut of the material used for the roof, stain it with red wine then see what effect the various cleaners have, in case any have an adverse effect on the roof.

Vanish Oxi-action spray for carpet & upholstery (pink & blue trigger pack) is excellent for getting red wine stains out of carpets, rugs & clothes - not stained or marked anything yet (despite multiple uses )- but not tried it on a roof yet, so usual disclaimers apply!

I've also heard white wine is good for removing red wine stains.I'd try it on other fabric first though.

Agree you should file a report. It may be that nothing is done, but on the other hand, if something is done it may prevent someone else from having their vehicle attacked. It is pathetic what some people do, I'm afraid it demonstrates their mentality rather well. Good luck.
