Aftermarket seats & carb spring
Discussion
Hi all,
Could of queries for those in the know!
Does anyone know if its possible to get a set of aftermarket seats that will fit the M, preferably a little less padding on the bottom and back, yet still tips forward for access to the 'luggage area'?
Our seats will need re-covering anyway, and with my 'ample frame', thought it may be as well to look at some decent modern alternatives that still have a classic feel, yet allow a bit more room.
Secondly, we have an issue with the accelerator pedal not returning, and Nigel W informs me there is supposed to be a spring at the carb end of the linkage to help everything return when you take your foot off. Does anyone know where this fixes to, and what it's off? Is it generic?
Thanks as always
Tony

The throttle return spring clips into a bracket welded on the standard Ford throttle linkage by TVR. The other end hooks into a small hole drilled into the edge of the N/S rocker box cover. If you want I will bring the throttle linkage along to the next Bucks TVRCC meeting so you can see how it should look.

Thanks for that folks!
I've tried a few breakers for MX5 seats - they are apparently like hens teeth, but certainly look as if they;ll do the job quite nicely!
I've just discovered these though:

What do you think? The bottom one with the tilt forward mech looks the business, yet still not too out of place with the character of the car. They even do the right colour combination of black with red piping. Just need to measure to make sure they'll fit ok. Has anyone got these, or heard any reviews on them?
Cheers, Tony

Sorry I hadnt noticed your enquiry.
If you are still looking for suitable seats Moss do 2 styles of leather seats which are narrow enough to fit and have reclining and folding backs. I fitted a set in a 1600M and find them spot on. Being leather they are not cheap but Moss sometimes have a sale/discount period which can make them quite reasonable. I think they intended them to be MGB replacements but they look right and are comfortable.
