Has anynoe converted a 4.0 to a 4.3 or bigger, am asuming that it's a crank change? also are the heds fitted to 5.0 engines the same as 4.0/4.5 big valve?

Isn't it easier to sell a 4.0 and buy a 4.3..? ..when you think of the pain you'd have to go through on the insurance side as it would then be a modified vehicle, I reckon that would put most people off.. ?

Know exactly where you're coming from, been in the same boat with the V8S for the last few years. The more work I do, the more sense it makes to keep it. But if I was starting out again, I'd probably start by trading up to a faster model. Unfortunately, there aren't any faster S series to trade up to!

The best conversion to do would almost certainly be the 4.6, you can get a cross bolted short block for @ £1750. Add your heads (or stage 3 heads) add a suitable cam, get Mark Adams to set up the ECU and hey presto, serious power and more reliable than a 5 litre non cross bolted engine.
