Wow is all I can say, I took my kart out for the first time today and I seriously thought a 430hp Monaro would prepare me more than enough but seriously, this thing shifts. Basically I went out put my foot down and was like, oh. Went round like this for a bit then got to the main straight and nailed the throttle, I heard the revs building and then this all mighty wail emitted from the engine and I was thrown forward down this staright faster than my poor mind could calculate! I should have expected it of course because the power doesn't actually come on until 7500 rpm and will run up to 14000 (although the straight wasn't long enough by far!) but it is like been hit by a turbo the size of wales! I highly doubt any monaro short of one packing 600 or so hp would stay with it from 5-80, it really is stupidly quick It has the weird 'slingshot effect' you see with F1 cars when it comes out of corners with the revs high, wicked fun! :d Only came off twice which wasn't bad considering it was my first go and my lap times were quick enough to warrant my alfano lap timer been double checked by a regualr racer to make sure!

Anyway here are some pics of the day, got my first race next weekend but my arms are in agony, I think I will hit the gym this week

Cheers Paul! I might ask Stu Harris if I could have a few stickers actually, bit of free advertising at a place guranteed to attract petrolheads, maybe set up a VXR karting team!
