I have posted this on website feedback, but thought I might get a quicker answer here. I know Ted doesn't really appreciate people blocking his ads so....

I have just installed a firewall and having opened the internet (I have PH as my homepage) all of the adverts have gone. The firewall in question is Agnitum Outpost Firewall 1.0.

Now I am pretty crap with computers but I have been able to setup PH as a trusted site (Hopefully this is the case!) but the ads are still being blocked.

Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Phil

The adverts are Active X plug-ins AFIK (I get a request to run when I enter pages with them on). I suspect you have activeX plug-in turned off in your security of your browser (ie security set high).
Hope that helps.

oops, forgot to mention on this - Ted downloaded the offending firewall and was able to solve the problem for me - literally just before the site went down - hope it had nothing to do with me!!

Edited to add: thanks for the help though.

Most of the ads are simple GIF images. The request for an ActiveX object may be if you hit one of the Flash adverts.
