993 throttle pedal adjustment
Discussion
I have had exactly the same problem. Apparently there is an adjustment directly behind the throttle pedal. You have to pull the pedal forward by breaking the ball joint and then twist the nut below. I stuck my head in the footwell and didn't get much further. Let me know if you have any success.
The other suggestions I had were to screw a piece of wood or a spare pedal to the top of the existing one. Not as ridiculous as it first sounds as I have found that whilst the throttle is too low for heel and toeing during normal road use, a session on the track and a bid of brake fade means that you have to brake a lot harder and the brake pedal is then just conveniently level with the throttle. It may be usefull to have an axtra pedal or piece of wood that you can remove for trackdays etc.
In the true spirit of procrastination I have done nothing but moan about the problem.
Good luck and let me know how you get on.

I got into the guts of the pedal box when replacing my clutch master cylinder. Once you remove the relevant bit of carpet, there is a plywood section (damned car's an antique!!) that unscrews giving access to the pedal spindles and associated workings. If I recall correctly, the throttle pedal is adjustable via a threaded actuation rod with lock nut.
Word of warning - getting the mini balljoint on the back of the pedal to re-engage with the socket is pretty fiddly.

If you do the adjustment as suggested, the problem would be that you would be changing the angle of the pedal. Do you want to do that?
It is quite easy to take the other suggestion and attach a plate (about 3/8" thick) to the pedal. I've done it on several cars and it always works perfectly.

Adjustment as stated....refitting the pedal to the ball is easy,,,just clamp the lever with mole grips and push against that until the ball clicks...literally takes seconds.
cheers Paul, will probably give it a go myself
I have Ruf sport pedals on mine. The height and position make it perfect for heel & toe.
Presumably the adjustment will sort it?

ideally yes, as that may stop the ball of my foor aching as I've got spurs on my achillies (yes I know, I'm an odd child)

The throttle on my C2 was far more vertical which was never a problem - the RS's is more hizontal which is why it hurts after an hour or so of driving.
S'pose I'll give it a go and see what happens

I actually have a set of alloy pedal thingies for a 993 which I never fitted, mainly because I thought they looked a bit too bling for me, but also because when I looked at them I realised they would bring the pedals nearer to me, which is the last thing I want.
You'd be welcome to give the throttle pedal one (or all) a go and if it suits you can have 'em in exchange for a pint or three.
