Tyre Size

Hi all, hope someone can help with a tyre size question for me.

I have a set of 18 x 8 rims, currently with 225's all round. Will this size of rim take a 245 tyre?

Ideally i need 245's on the rear and 215's at the front. I dont want to buy new rims if i can help it!

Have run 235s on 8" rims so think 245s should be fine.

In fact I've got 245/35s on the back of my MR2 at the moment but can't remember the wheel size (as I didn't buy them) but they're either 7s or 8s.

theres a tyre size calculator near the bottom of the page, gives you speedo error % as well,and in plain english!!
