Anti spyware question

I have AVG free edition Anti Virus however I have no Spyware protection since I stopped my subscrption to blueyonder PC gaurd, PC gaurd is still there telling me how many spyware bits it has found but will no longer deal with them.

So do I need pyware protection? And if so where can I get something I dont have to pay for?

I use the two already mentioned and MS Defender and eWido (now Grisoft Anti Spyware 7.5)
