Looking at Escort cossie rear discs and bearing carriers to upgrade the rear brakes, this is the mod for sierras so in which case should work?

are you sure the hub flange/bearing carrier is different,i would have thought its just a case of having the callipers&carriers and the vented disc,to do the conversion.i may be wrong but you know ford like a bit of parts bin specials.

Done this on mine, the bearing carriers are different.
The lugs on the 273mm set up, set the caliper out further(pretty obvious I know).
Other than that its a straight bolt on job. Undoing the rear drive shaft nut is best done with the wheel on to initally break the torque.

I stand corrected thanks,im doing this one soon to get the rears up to my bigger fronts, its got a lazy handbrake mechanism on one calliper anyway making this the ideal time.

I recall that they are on the opposite sides to the Ford unit, so if you only want one order the opposite side, if you get my drift.

i intend to do away with the small solid disc rear brakes & update to the later vented gear, the lazy calliper is just an excuse to get it done now.thanks you lot most grateful.

the 4x4 sierra aswell

not all 4x4 sierras, only 4x4 cosworth(Sierra/Escort) ones are 278mm vented all the others are 248mm solid same as earlier chim/griff.

as mentioned the Granada Cosworth also has the larger vented discs

sierra 2.0i with abs, granada mk3 with abs, siera cosworth 3dr/4dr all share same callipers ,not discs though granada are 5 stud.talking of which i have a set of motorcraft/genuine ford rear chim/griffith discs solids for sale(new)if any of you are interested if used with gen ford pads your h/brake performance will improve over pattern parts, they dont have the same friction properties.

Quick question please,i'm selling my 273mm rears and callipers to the Sierra brigade here and now confused.
Are they standard rear Sierra Cosworth disc's and callipers that will fit on any rear wheel drive Sierra as an upgrade?

Well i've got them now, got used 24v Granada calipers, new pads and new Escort cossie discs, plus the bearing carriers. Got the lot for £110 so if it fits good value. Might fit tommorow.

Yep, it all fits as it should, not tried them in anger but the handbrake now works.
